Working together with Solera Sustainable Energy Consultants, this community group, spearheaded by Ron McKay, made a bulk purchase of Solera PV Panels to provide solar energy to 50 homes in Toronto's Riverdale neighbourhood. The participating residents and interested homeowners in the east-end of Toronto created a vision of a green, sustainable energy plan for the City of Toronto. This successful initiative continues to ripple out and spark the interest and inspiration of all levels of government, local utilities, sustainable energy companies and organizations, as well as individuals and organizing groups from neighbourhood communities across the GTA.

Ron McKay and his RISE organization was honoured with a Green Toronto Award for Energy Conservation during a ceremony at City Hall May 1, 2007.
