These sealed, weather proof units
contain photovoltaic cells that convert the energy contained
in sunlight directly into electricity. With no moving parts
and useable lifetimes in excess of 30 years, they are the
most reliable source of electricity available. Our solar
modules are offered in sizes ranging from 5 watts to 190
watts.


There is an immense resource
of energy contained in the wind. A wind turbine allows you
to extract part of that energy and create a reliable source
of non-polluting electricity. We have turbines suitable
for supplementing grid power with generating capacities
ranging from 1000 watts, for a single home, up to 100's
of Kw for a small community.


These electronic devices
use microprocessor technology to control the energy flowing
from solar and wind generators. Their purpose is to manage
the charging and discharging of a battery bank, preventing
battery damage from excessively high and low voltages. Advanced
models incorporate functions such as computer interface
and historical energy logging capability. Maximum Power
Point Tracking (MPPT) is now a commonly included technology
that greatly improves the output of solar modules under
most conditions.

Batteries are the heart of
an off-grid renewable energy system. It is important that
the correct battery size and chemistry be employed for the
requirement. We offer batteries ranging from very small
sealed units to large stationary units weighing a number
of tons. Solera's technical staff are experts in specifying
your battery system, such that it will provide many years
of low maintenance trouble-free service.

To power conventional appliances
and equipment, an inverter is used to change the DC power
from a solar/wind generator and battery bank to high quality
AC power, the same as supplied by your electricity utility.
We supply highly efficient maintenance-free inverters, with
power ratings from 75 watts to tens of thousands of watts.
Advanced models incorporate features such as a computer
interface, and the ability to manage and control multiple
power sources.

As with all electrical systems,
safety must be the number one priority. Our solar electricity
systems are designed and supplied in an integrated fashion,
where all ancillary electrical devices, such as circuit
breakers, switches and terminal blocks are contained within
only one or two enclosures.

Lighting for both indoor
and outdoor applications is a common use for solar generated
electricity. Solera designs solar lighting systems in many
sizes and configurations, from simple pathway markers or
garden lights, to large industrial duty systems that can
light a billboard, a parking lot, or a roadway intersection.

Solar pumping systems are
available in numerous configurations, from simple, lowest
cost solar direct systems that pump water only during daytime
when solar power is available, to fully pressurized water
systems that offer equivalent flow and pressure to that
of a home in the city. Whether it's to supply a weekend
cottage or to pump 50 gallons per minute over hundreds of
feet of pipe, Solera has the products and the experience
to meet the need.

Refrigeration is typically
one of the largest users of electricity in an energy efficient
home. Solera is a Canadian Distributor for Sunfrost, maker
of the world’s most efficient refrigerators. Using
less than 20% of a typical refrigerator’s energy,
these finely crafted units are available in a range of sizes
up to 19 cubic feet with a wide range of finish colours
available. The refrigerators are available in 12 and 24
volt DC and 120 VAC versions, and they may be ordered with
a right or left door swing.
