Generate your own environmentally-safe
green power
Our solar electric systems allow you to
become your own miniature electrical utility. These products
of advanced technology collect the Sun's energy and convert
it into the same electricity as supplied by your local electrical
utility. When your home or business is equipped with one
of our systems, you will be slowing down your electricity
meter, or even turning it backwards,* when your personal
'solar utility' is producing more electricity than you are
using.
Our systems come in many sizes, from small residential to
large industrial. Solera Substainable Energies Company
is Canada's leader in grid-connected solar electric power.
For specific examples of Solera's creative
solutions, please see our Case Studies section, or fill
out the Request Form on this site.
* Some utility companies require a bi-directional meter
upgrade in their net metering policy, which would not result
in reversal of the meter. They track the production separately
and measure it against the consumption at billing period.
Power Security
Your life does not have to come to a stop
because of a utility power outage. Our systems often incorporate
an optional battery bank, that provides for short to mid-term
supply of standard 120/240V AC power for essential home
and business appliances.

The solar power for our systems
is provided by silicon based solar modules with world-leading
performance. Each of our products have technically superior
charactaristics that are designed for cost-efficient installation,
and to generate the maximum amount of power in the minimum
amount of surface area. Solar modules come with power output
warranties of 20-25 years.
These sealed, weather proof units contain photovoltaic cells
that convert the energy in visible sunlight directly to
electricity. With no moving parts, and service lifetimes
up to 40 years, they are the most reliable source of electricity
available.
Solar modules for grid-tied applications are offered in
sizes ranging from 130 watts to 480 watts per unit. Building-integrated
(BIPV) modules are also availabe for more advanced acrchitectural
endeavours.

Solarsave® Roofing Membranes from Open Energy Corporation
Solarsave® Roofing Membranes from Open Energy Corporation (OEC) deliver multi-functional to building
integrated Photovoltaic solutions. OEC solutions produce electricity while serving as the roof itself and
providing desired features of urban buildings. Solarsave® Roofing Membranes are solar modules
integrated with single-ply roofing membrane. They use high efficiency SunPower™ cells providing a
lightweight, waterproof roofing product and can be installed over any existing roof surface.

Open Energy's Solarsave® Roofing Tile
Open Energy’s SOLARSAVE® Roofing Tile is a unique product that maintains the natural look of your property
while generating clean, safe, efficient electricity from the sun. SOLARSAVE® Roofing Tile is easy to install on residential,
commercial, or institutional sloped roofs.

Solar modules can be mounted on rooftops, walls, poles or
the ground. They can be adjustable, fixed, or can track
the sun automatically. They can also be designed to provide
window shading, adding overall value to the system by reducing
air conditioning load. There is ample room for creative
responses to technical, aesthetic and architectural demands,
and we take full advantage of this.
Solera uses the mounting products and techniques that have
been proven in Europe for many years. Proven to minimize
installation time and cost, and maximize system intregrity.
For challenging projects, Solera custom designs the hardware
specifically to fit the installation. Available for all
climates, seasons and geographic locations, the hardware
is high-grade extruded aluminum or hot-dipped galvanized
steel, with stainless steel fasteners.

There is an immense resource of energy
contained in the wind. A wind turbine allows you to extract
part of that energy and create a reliable source of non-polluting
electricity. We have turbines suitable for supplementing
grid power with generating capacities ranging from 1000
watts, for a single home, up to 100's of Kw for a small
community.
The inverter is the heart
of the system, efficiently managing and converting DC power
from solar and wind generators to high quality AC power.
Computerized control and operation ensures extreme reliability
and a perfect match to the utility grid. All safety and
protection functions are included to meet stringent Electrical
Code requirements. Sizes are available from 10kW to 1MW.
Xantrex Grid-Tied Photovoltaic Inverters
Xantrex provides inverters
that will handle direct grid connection, and grid connection
with backup battery capability as well. They also make inverters
that will handle wind turbines and larger scale solar applications
(1kW, 4kW, 30kW). All of these inverters are capable of
interfacing with a variety of monitoring equipment.
Monitoring provides performance
information, user control and diagnostics for your sustainable
energy system. This is accomplished with products ranging
from a simple stand-alone digital metering unit, to sophisticated
on-line internet enabled utility grade monitoring equipment.
